The Camino Way...

A right of passage, a pilgrimage, an adventure, a catharsis. Everyone who walks the way has a reason or several reasons. I shall be revealing mine gradually as I go....

So Bordeaux, staying with the lovely Fatima,  to Bayonne and a lovely Breton crepe for lunch. Then took the tiny little train to St Jean Pied De Por, a very cheerful experience as it blew it's whistle all the way up the hill, waved on by onlookers.. The train was full of 'pilgrims' all looking keen, some nervous and one lady looking a tad dishevelled. .not me I hasten to add. When we arrived in St Jean I found my hostel and of course we were sharing a bunk. I shall be taking the more challenging route tomorrow, so we won't be sharing the journey although heavy rain and thunderstorms are forecast. Think I may head off all the same..can't waste time. Looking forward to spending  tomorrow  night in  a monastery!
